Teche Regional Medical Center Announces New Leader

July 24, 2017

Jerry Dooley has been named interim chief executive officer (CEO) of Teche Regional Medical Center.

“We appreciate Jerry’s willingness to step into this important interim leadership role and know that he will do a wonderful job guiding the hospital through this transition. We are currently searching for the right person to fill this role on a more permanent basis and will keep the community informed of our progress,” said Scott Smith, LifePoint Health Louisiana Market CEO.

Dooley replaces Butch Frazier, who recently left to pursue other career opportunities.

Dooley is a veteran healthcare administrator with more than 30 years of experience. In recent years, he has provided interim leadership for many LifePoint Health facilities, including Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City, Kansas; Rockdale Medical Center in Conyers, Georgia; Southern Tennessee Regional Health System (STRHS), a four-campus system in southern Tenn.; Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg, Ind.; Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, Ky.; and Georgetown Community Hospital in Georgetown, Ky.

Dooley holds a master’s degree in economics from Indiana State University and a master’s degree in hospital administration from the University of Minnesota.  He is married to Mary “Cookie” Dooley, a retired school teacher, and they have two grown children, Tami and Mark.

“I am excited to welcome Jerry to Teche Regional Medical Center and the Louisiana Market, “said Scott Smith. “He is a strong leader with significant professional experience, and I know he will do a great job leading Teche through this transition, just as he has done at his previous facilities, “added Smith.
