Teche Regional Medical Center Earns Award for ER Satisfaction

Teche Regional Medical Center was recently recognized with an Excellence through Insight award for “Most Improved Overall Emergency Department Patient Satisfaction” of all hospitals survey by HealthStream, Inc.

The award was based on HealthStream’s client databases representing more than 1,100 healthcare facilities nationwide. A formal presentation of the award was made during HealthStream’s customer Summit 2012, in Nashville, Tennessee.

“Teche Regional’s Emergency Department treated 27,216 patients in 2011 which is 4,156 more patients than the prior year. With that growth in volume we are very proud of our employees and thrilled to say that we achieved this award,” said Butch Frazier, Teche Regional Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

“Patient satisfaction continues to be a main focus at Teche Regional. We will continue to strive to be the very best health care provider in South Louisiana. Our vision is to be the hospital of choice where patients want to come for healthcare, physicians want to practice, and employees want to work,” said Frazier.

Teche Regional was awarded this honor for its commitment to excellence in patient care. To qualify for an award, a hospital must have been a patient satisfaction-tracking client of HealthStream in 2011, scored in the 75th percentile or higher, and surveyed a minimum of 100 patients. Teche Regional was chosen for receiving the highest ratings as Most Improved Emergency Department patient satisfaction from among HealthStream’s clients, as well as exceeding industry standards.

HealthStream CEO Robert A. Frist, Jr., said, “We applaud Teche Regional Medical Center’s high-level commitment to excellence in healthcare and we are pleased to recognize their achievement through our presentation of an Excellence through Insight award.”
